 Alaska Salmon Run Charts

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game tracks many of our salmon runs around the state, using various methods. The typical salmon counter is a sonar setup which is positioned to record fish as they pass a specific point. These counters are placed at various locations. In some rivers, the counter is located in a tidewater area, which gives a read on fish entering the river on their annual spawning run. In other cases the counter may be located far upstream.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game loads current salmon count date to their site multiple times a day during the runs. Our charts feed automatically from the ADFG data, but we format it on-the-fly into a bar chart that shows the current status of the run. Click on the icon below to make your choice of species, location and year. Click "Get Data" to receive the information you are looking for.

Webcams

Some rivers have webcams installed, which will give you real-time images of what's going on in the area right now. Currently we only have the Kenai River Mouth webcam, and it does not work on all web browsers. This camera can be controlled by you, the user. It is located near the Porta-Potties near the toll station on the north beach side. So if you want to see how crowded the beach is, whether people are catching fish, or even how long the line is at the restrooms, this is your ticket! Click the link below.
