Synopsis: This book is an outgrowth of Michael Strahan's years of teaching his series, "Float Hunting Alaska's Wild Rivers"; a seminar series designed to train float hunters on the nuances of hunt planning, finding a river to hunt, and the field techniques needed to pull off a successful float hunt in Alaska. Strahan has been actively involved in the Alaska float hunting scene since the late 1980's, and has taught literally thousands of hunters how to enjoy hunting Alaska's river systems.

The first half of this book covers all you need to know about float hunting in Alaska, from how to find a river to hunt, to boats and accessories, river gear, tips on river camping, river navigation and dealing with river hazards. The book includes extensive sections on boat selection, boat rigging, hunting tactics and meat and trophy care.

The second half of the book presents overviews of fifty rivers around the state, offering a variety of species, conditions and whitewater ratings, in order to meet the needs of Alaska's diverse float hunting contingent.

The book is filled with hundreds of charts, photographs, maps and illustrations, making this a tremendously valuable tool for anyone interested n hunting big-game on Alaska's rivers.
